tire valve stem

On my rear tyre i have a straight valve instead of a side valve so im struggling to get a foot pump to attach   as it points to close to the centre of the wheel and the one at my local garage is also to bulky to get in the gap. but my front wheel is a side valve so that is fine, does anyone else have this problem i cant understand why kymco fitted a straight valve to the rear wheel but side valve at the front its also the same on my wife's....

Someone must have changed it in the past, both mine have angled valves. You can get them on ebay or most tyre places, just a bummer to have to change out.

Someone changed it. I have straight bolt on stems, and I do have to use MY compressor to fill. It HAS to be a 90* air chuck to get in there. You can get a set of anlged stems, and install them with the tire ON the bike. Take the core out of the stem, and break the bead of the tire. I use a "c" clamp to do this. You can pull the old stem out with Vise grips, and install the new one(s) in about an hour if you have never done it before. When you go to inflate... Leave the core OUT of the new stem. This will allow a larger volume of air to enter, and re bead the tire.
