acceleration lagg
« on: July 22, 2012, 10:42:21 PM »
Yesterday I took out my 250 scooter . Everything seemed fine for the first three miles I drove (which is a gravel road) then once i got to the black top she would only do about 50 mph i kept up this speed while toying with the throttle and all at once boom she kicked in and i was doing 75-80 . so i thought addjust the throttle cable which was loose as i found out but didnt solve the problem. any ideas? i was told check the accelerator pump but have no idea how to know if its bad . well it seems to kick in as soon as i hit 50 mph on the dot. I am soooo lost.

sounds like your diaphragm has a hole in it, that's very common on the Xciting 250

I got a new diaphragm from Stadium Yamaha after I opened up the carb and found it had a slight tear in it so that itwould not lift the slide all the way up

I repaired it with some goop until the new one arrived, red gasket maker, but don't goop it  on too much, and replace it at once

Check and see  if that's it, two screws on top of the carb

That looks like the sh**, Vivo, I bet it would work great, but Zombie sez not to use that sh** in the carb, cuz it'll get sucked down in and funt it all up.
He thinks we're using big wad gobs of it, wiped all over, but we just used a teeny tiny bit, he don't know, oh sh**, here he comes, put that sh** away...

What?
