New parts in and on pretty decent so far.....
« on: July 29, 2012, 05:04:56 AM »
Well first off thanks to all on here for all of the usefull info and insight....
Got my parts in today and installed and went cruisin....
Got the malossi multavar variator, and naraku race clutch and clutch bell.
Previously it was all stock but derestricted with yellow clutch springs and yellow
torque spring (hoca brand of which i know now isnt very good).

Installed the new variator with the 6 g rollers it came with and installed the new clutch
with the white malossi spring and the naraku clutch came with red clutch springs...
Still using the factory belt etc.

Took it out and was pretty impressed... Nice and smooth and seemed quicker. Fastest was about 53-55 mph
downhill on speedo and it took uphills ok most at 30 plus. Nothing too insane but definitely has been an improvement so far.
Might try my 5g rollers to see how it acts then but am diggin this setup right now.... Maybe about as good as it
gets for 50cc. Also thinking about trying a race cdi over the cut cdi I am running now.

Happy scootin to all!

Also noticed the boss that came with the multavar is a little shorter seems good.
Still haven't messed with my New setup yet just enjoying it so far.
About to try my 5g rollers and see how she rides....

Till the next time I tinker with it! Haha

Thats pretty good results you got there, i wouldnt mess too much more with it,at least for a bit  :D

I ran 5.5g's for ages and found they worked well for me, recently went to 5.1g's which were betterbut after i re-fitted myopen filter and messedwith that i think aybe i might go back to 5.5g's cos i feel im revving too high at times.Think the open filter etc has free'd it up a bit maybe and the 5.1'smay be just a tad too lght now.

Just back from holiday yesterday so not had time to do any tuning/messing about yet but will maybe get some time tomorrow or during this week.

The shorter boss does helptp end,i got 3-5mph afteri shortened mine down.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

Yeah I was about to try my 5g rollers with my current set up today but didn't want to touch it haha.
Still feel I need a stiffer contra/torque spring as some hills I drop to 30 and steep ones a little under 30.
Running the malossi white that came with the multavar but want to try the green and/or purple one.

Will probably try the 5g rollers till I get the new spring might help with hills but just don't want to loose top end...

Never ends haha :P

Nope i never ends, even when it runs great you think "maybe if i just swap this for that i may get another 1-2mph from it"  :D

I never lost any top end on the 5.1's on the open filter until i did some mods to the filter, now it feels i could use a little more weight to get the rpms just perfect. Top end downhill is still the same but i think i may have lost 1-3mph on flats.

Im on a 1500rpm torque spring as well tho i used that before on the 5.5g too, that helped a little uphill more than the 1000rpm for me.
Chaos is my co-pilot.
