Super 8 150 clock calendar issue
« on: June 08, 2013, 08:34:42 PM »
Hi guys,

I just got my new super 8 150.  Everything is awesome and dandy but the only problem is when I hop over a manhole and or a bump.  My clock/calendar digital display flashes resets itself and it resets itself every time I hit any bumpy road or bumps.  The dealer says he ordered a new part to replace.  My question is what may be causing that?  I hope its nothing more than the digi display being swapped out.

If it resets... I presume a loose connection ... my two cents..

I know some of the bikes have a separate watch battery for the clock, perhaps it's loose?

Thanks Vivo and MotoR for the response!

Hmm I am not sure.  It's still under warranty since it is only a week old.  Dealer said they are ordering a part to replace it.  I am going to take it to the dealer tomorrow to get a few things checked out and I will ask about it.  Keep you guys posted on what the issue is.  I suspect loose wire connection and just need to be reconnected or seated properly and boom! prob solved.  Hope it is that easy.

On another note.  Ran into another issue today.  Went to get my skills test done today and thank god I passed it.  Scoot stalled half way doing my skills test.  Lol... scared the shi*t out of me but good thing it's a scooter so I could easily start it while the S8 was gliding on a u-turn.  I think its a low throttle issue and can easily be fixed.  But to be on the safe side, I'm going to take it in and have it full checked out so I don't run into any issues in the near future.

Maro0328,

Congrats on your skills test.  Sounds definitely like there is a loose connection.  I used to have trouble with my clock resetting but that was due to a bad battery.  Once I replace the battery all was well.  I don't think the clock has an internal battery on the Super 8, as nothing is mentioned in the shop manual.
