dellorto 19mm phbg racing carb
« on: July 30, 2012, 05:58:09 PM »
I am looking to install a dellorto 19mm phbg racing carb on my like50 2t
the hoses that run to my current carb dont line up with the racing carb
I was wondering if anyone had a picture or a link to a diagram that shows which hose needs to connect where so I dont connect it incorrectly
also I have a 70cc kit with a tecnigas next r pipe, a ball park of what jets I should use would be really helpful too
thanks in advance for any advice

Get the kit that fits the ZX50. It has a bung on the intake adapter that fits for the vacuum line. The people/S9 kits do not have it. The oil line will go to the manifold as before

Perhaps this will help.  This is the actual "racing edition" carb.  If yours is the kit that has the  manifold adapter and all that, it will be slightly different (two screws holding the cap on, no bowl nut for easy main jet access).

The original picture isn't mine, but the original owner posted it up asking where to plug things in at.  I edited the photo to show where things hooked up.  Forgive me, I do not remember who's photo it is.  I'd have to dig around to find out. :)

I only have 2 hoses to hook up though
The oil and fuel
I'm pretty sure the vacuum line hooks up to my intake manifold
Should i cap the nipple on intake manifold and run the vacuum line to my carb instead?

It doesn't matter.  You can hook it to either the carb, or the manifold the fuel petcock doesn't care.  Whichever one you don't use though, you will need to cap off as you mentioned.

Will be in touch!

So I finally got the carb on to my like 50!
The gas line hooked up fine, the oil line seems to big for the noozle. Is there a trick getting the oil line to fit snug. Also the stock air box doesn't line up right so I'm having trouble securing it. And finally or some reason the carb isn't getting any gas.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Fuel auto cock not working. There is a vacuum line that goes to auto cock(it's a vacuum controlled fuel valve usually located at the bottom of the tank). You can test it by sucking on that vacuum line and see if gas starts to flow out of the fuel line. Don't worry you won't suck gas into your mouth  :D... It's either that or the float/float needle in the carb is not working properly. Make sure the float moves freely.

Of course I don't have the racing version though

You can buy a clear bowl for it. Has the plug in the bottom for quick jet changes.
