tusk crank puller for zx50

Anyone use one yet? The one I see has a 12mm adapter and the zx has a 17mm nut.

I'm assuming you're removing the crank right? What you want is a case splitter. The crank is sandwiched between the two crankcase halves. You'll want something like this

A crank puller is actually for pulling the crank back through the case when you're reinstalling it. This

You really don't need it though. Some patient and precise blows from a rubber hammer will press the case halves back onto the crank.

The wrench/socket to remove the nut is 17mm. The thread size is what the 12mm is referring to. If the threads on the crank are 12mm then that's what you want. Though, again, you don't really need it.

 I use a 2 ton press usually on all the engines I build, on the 120cc stroker I only froze and heated to install the bearing and crank.
Im building 2 kx65s into 82cc with new cranks, bearing, and the athena 82cc big bore kit. Just spent 1600 in parts and dont want to stress these new cranks. Theres an adapter I bought for c clipped primary shiz like the kx uses.

I had to go measure the shaft, ha. Was on a stupid stoner thought, nut was 17mm, must be a 17mm shaft ha ha.

The nut isn't 17mm. The socket/wrench used to remove the nut is a 17mm. The flats on the nut are 17mm not the thread size. The thread size on the crank is what you want. It's probably 12mm.

I finally bought one and I LOVE THE DAM THING.....
Shaka had put me on to it long ago but never bought one, Just rebuild it the manual way.  ;D
I loved that tool since the 1st time I used it.. I do NOT see how I lived with out it.... ;D  :D

IMO this tool is a MUST have if you plan to rebuild the bottom end!  If you have the extra money to blow on a new crank and/or bearing from trying to get away without it...then by all means go ahead.  If the tool saves you one set of destroyed bearings it has payed for itself.  Plus, it is so simple to use.
