Gas tank
« on: September 04, 2012, 03:33:52 PM »
Just a note about gas tank reserve amount. My low fuel light came on as I was pulling into a gas station. So when I filled up it told me exactly how much fuel was left. It took just under 2.7 gallons to fill. So 3.38 gallons minus 2.7 leaves 0.68 gallons. About 2 tenths above a half a gallon. Should be good for about 25 mile at least at hwy speeds of 55-65?

That's a good thing to know.  I've never had a fuel guage on any of my scooters that was all that reliable so I fill up every 100 miles if I am able as a matter of course.

Your light should come on at or about 140 miles, leaving you the 0.68 gallons.  :-*

Mine comes on around 127 miles.  When I fill up it takes close to a gallon.  The farthest I've gone (and I let it run out) was 172 miles.  I carried a fuel bottle with me to add enough gas to get me to the nearest gas station.

When the needle reaches the red mark, I look in my wallet to see if I have gas money, then I proceed to the gas station and buy gas depending on my budget.  In our country, there's no such thing as "fill 'er up"... , you tell the gasoline boy... "Unleaded, 500 pesos" ... ;D

Desliderman? When your light comes on @ 127 miles, it only takes or needs 1 gallon? Does not make sense? It should take at least 2? ??? :-*
