I just spoke to my dealer and they said the newer ones don't always have the wire in the box to cut.

You may be right I think after o10 they stop doing that.I know in the chineese scoots all you have to do is pull the green wire out. in your case you may not have to worry about the cdi box. see how it does with out doing the cdi.

This has been an ongoing debate here for years now. Some say they dont, some say they do. Several folk on here have confirmed their 2011/2012 A50's did have the wire which they cut and got gains. I have emailed Kymco UK at the start of the year to ask and accordimg to them EVERY kymco A50 leaves the factory with the same restricted cdi fitted and this has no changed any since its introduction.

Email Kymco in your country and see what they say about it? Let us know what they say.

I just did smooth boss and 82 main jet it runs a lot better next I will do 1500 contra spring and 5.5 roller weights. Then if every thing fills good how do I know if I still need a new cdi box

If the cdi is restricted it revs to around 7500rpm max, if its cut/unrestricted it goes to 9000rpm.

It runs 30-40 mph on flat ground and 43 down hill engine sounds a lot better with the 82 jet. I am still affected on the up hill but that is expected untill I change to a 1500 contra spring and 5.5 rollers

i would have thought you would get a little more down hill so maybe cdi is restricted.

Me too. I would expect at least 42-43mph on flats if its not windy or wet. And at least 45 downhill but prob nearer 50. Hows the belt condition? It may be too narrow thro wear or it could be worn rollers but if youre changing rollers anyway that rules that out.

My stock belt did 9,000 km before i swapped it out. Its still ok to use as a spare so i kept it. Yours shoukd be fine, prob is still a restricted cdi.
