I wouldn't trust my dealer to do the first service going from the
missed items during setup. They are great guys and very helpful
just not methodical enough.
On the bikes the only dealer I trust is the local BMW dealer. They
only have one mechanic, he's been there forever and is very good.
The trouble is he cannot take time to look at difficult problems as
he's always booked up. It's like doctors, you cannot get to see the
best ones as they are always busy.
The other dealers use high school kids. I was invited into the service
area once and a kid was moving a bike and leaving a trail of gas. He
said "oops I forgot to tighten the fuel line" and the rest of the guys laughed
and said "That's the third time this week!". It wouldn't be so bad except
they get $70/hr to work on my bike at least they should do a good job.
The only way to tell how good they are is to pay for them to do something
and see if they do a good job. I like places that have a stable work force.
One dealer I used to frequent was great, I got to know the staff over the
years and they always did a good job. They changed their setup and now
have a Walmart type "greeter" and those kids outback doing the wrenching.
You might try visiting each one and try to look into the service area and
see how they work.
