Kymco Agility City 50cc Racing Clutch Twist Control

just found these on e bay ...Kymco Agility  50cc Racing Clutch Twist Control....for the torque spring.... do they do anything?  or just a gimick?

If its what i think it is then supposedly it gives a smoother gearing, seem to remember Zombie saying they did work ( someone said it if it wasnt him). Only thing you need to watch is that it takes up space in the torque drive so increases the torque spring rating a little, think it adds like 10%, so a 1000rpm will act like a 1100rpm, 1500rpm acts like 1650rpm, other than that it works ok i think from what i heard. Dont quote me on that tho.....

Get your spare panels and wheels sanded down and prepped then respray them over winter. You can have a brand new scoot in any colour you want come spring  :D (except Kawasaki green cos i bag that for mine af xmas  ;D )

 ;D will do. the other scoot i got, still looking for engine for it ,but doing that one up with son. so will spray it any colour he likes .but he liked my thought on green hornet. black and green. then he will take his cbt and be on the road.may take a year though as he wont get a job. so cbt will be birthday gift. then insurance will be up to him...

Thats my plan too. My boys 16 next september so he can strip the kymco in spring and ill help him paint and rebuild it up nice then he can get the cbt for his birthday. Need to restrict it again too, at least for 3-4 months till he gets used to riding safely at 30mph 1st. Thenw'll see.

I tried something like this twist control (a Malossi Torsion Controller), and it did nothing that a stiffer spring or lighter rollers wouldn't do....

Edit : I forgot to mention something really important - which at first I didn't notice because I was also driving with the CDI un-rev-limited at that time : The extra space this device takes up actually made the range of the CVT smaller, taking a bit off from the top speed and making it rev a higher at speeds above 50km/h or so....

This presupposes there is bind in the spring that might affect the smoothness
of the gear change. It might make a difference if the slot in the rear pulley is
doglegged instead of straight. I doubt it does anything except increase the
tension a bit. You might have to change your roller weights after installing
one of these. Some people use a similar device in their shocks and forks,
the spring there compresses a lot so has a bigger chance to bind a bit. It's the
same there 90% of the people wouldn't feel a difference.

That's what I should have done as well to get my top speed back...

Did you keep the bearing, and do you notice any difference ?

.yeah, that highr rev is because your driven pulleys can no longer spread as far, due to the interference of the sleeve..

..makes belt slip approaching top end speeds...


..yes, i did feel a noticable difference in performance..
