Scooter trunks
« on: December 22, 2012, 04:31:11 AM »
Hopefully I'm not violating any rules by posting this, but I ran across it and figured I would share with others.  Anyone looking to add a trunck to their scooter, JC Whitney has 22x16x11 on clearance for $45.43 shipped.  Can't post any personal experience as I just ordered mine last night, but for the price I figured I would give it a try.  Here's a link for anyone interested.  http://www.jcwhitney.com/garage-pro-universal-motorcycle-travel-trunks/p2010969.jcwx?filterid=u0j3

Happy Holidays

You broke the rule of not buying one for the first person to respond to your thread, that would be me!

I like the look of the case in the link, I have a soft sided case that I have velcrowed on, it allows some flexibility when packing a full or odd sized load.

08087, had I known you needed one, I would of ordered 2.  LOL

My order arrived today and took me all of 15 minutes to have it installed.  Came with all of the brackets and hardware needed to attach it to the luggage rack.  Here's a pic of the completed project.

Does that unit "POP" off so you can carry it? The other thing about mine is with the velcro I can pull it off and use it's carry handle if I need a bag.

Your's looks like a perfect fit, almost like it was made for the bike, very nice.

It doesn't have a handled to carry it with, however, to remove it you simply press a little release latch and slide it forward and out of the 2 little rear posts its sitting on.
Should be just about perfect to hold my fishing vest, rain coat and a small cooler.  Not sure how well it shows, but I've got a slick fly rod mount just in front of the trunk.  I can post abetter pic of just it if anyone is interested.

Hmm the add says"Wide center band doubles as an easy-grip handle."

I've had one of these for years. The first one I paid $85 and thought that was a good deal!
I transferred it  from bike to bike and it finally popped off and broke (not sure why? I had
modified it to fit the Givi mount on my BMW so it might have been that or the plastic got brittle
and cracked at the handle). My new one I got a few months ago for $50 delivered! It looks a little
big on the scooter though (and makes it rock backwards on the center stand). Very useful for
commuting as it holds a ton of stuff!

I stand corrected Moto, it does actually have a carrying handle.
