04 b&w 250 throttle cable problem
« on: January 12, 2013, 05:19:55 PM »
The throttle cable has a lot of slack in it on the return side at the card.  More than the adjustment can correct.  Does the cable stretch over time?
The throttle works smoothly from the hand grip. Is there some adjustment I have missed?  Not enough take up at the grip end either.
Worries me to ride it in this condition. Could I have a frayed cable that is about to break or what?  In need of advise and instruction    ole PH

..yes, cable will stretch, especially if pulled hard, WOT a lot...

..could be frayed as well...thorough inspection at both ends is in order, at least...   ;)

..there should be adjustment at both ends of the cable, tho i'm not familiar with your scoot...

..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..

I like to take those out, makes it easier to turn. The spring does the returning and I've never had one break!

that sounds reasonable, of all the bikes i've had, this is the first time I remember having a return cable.
