dead motor starts
« on: May 29, 2008, 02:11:06 AM »
Hey guys...

I have been practicing my starts and sometimes I still screw them up. I let off the starter button before it is cranked...

On my 500, the brake saftey mechanism is still there (I have to hold in one of the brake levers to start in gear).

Do you guys have the brake saftely switch bypassed? (surely you do..)
That sure would make the deadstarts more simple...just hit starter and throttle at same time...not worry about letting off the brake..

I would leave it as is. Just keep getting used to it. It is a safety feature.

Yes, safe is good, with kids around it is a necessity.

I bypassed the safety of my Series 80 1911 before, but that is another story.

Really safety is the more important thing in all conditions, for bikes brakes are for the safety purpose. So those should be in care and strong manner, particularly i don't have any idea about these brakes, if i get any idea, then definitely i will inform you.
