You have to break it in for around 100 miles...  no tire abuse... slow figure eights on an empty parking lot ....

The figure eights that Vivo mentioned will help scrub off the slippery mold-releasing compound from tire manufacturing. Be careful when your tires are new! Your bike might be very skittish. The City Grips are very nice tires.

I just replaced the MAXXIS OEM front tire on my 2009 XC 500 Ri with a City Grip.  The City Grip is sweeeeeet!  I already ordered the back tire. In 1500 miles I will replace the Viper on the back.

I run the Michelins.  I've already got 2000 more miles on these then I had on the stock tires when I replaced them.  I was talking to my mechanic and he told me it looks like I've got a good 3000 miles left before I need to change them out.  When I do I'm staying with what's on there.

City Grips are fabulous!  I just wore one out with over 9,000 miles!  It wore well and grips well.  Good luck with it.

I've put 2000 miles on a new 14" City Grip on the Honda (rear), and it seems to perform very well, especially in wet. Hard to believe I got more than 10,000 on the OEM IRC tire!

Just put new City grip on the back tire.  Now I have city grips on front and back.  Replacing Front Maxxis and rear Avon Viper strike.

The City Grips are better in every way.  Speedo is accurate now and not 10% over.
