Here in Vegasbaby I belong to a local scooter club and we ride in staggered formation all the time. At one time we had 16=20 riders riding in formation and it was blast. For this ride we went up to Red Rock Canyon and did the 13mile scenic loop. I have learned so much from other riders about riding. I have attended two rallies and I will be attending my 3rd rally at the highrollers Scooter Rally which is always a blast. Their website is www.lvscooterrally.com We have a facebook page and a meetup page. Go on facebook and type in Nevada Scooter Brigade under groups. Happy riding everyone.

I live in central New York and am fairly new to scooter riding (Since June 2012). Before that I had a Harley and rode with the local HOG group. They were very organized and followed most of the rules expressed on this forum. The times I  saw problems were on larger rides organized by charities. You get all kinds of motorcycles and scooters, and sometimes literally hundreds of riders. In most cases the route was all set up and most major intersections were temporarily blocked by local police or fire dept personnel when the group came by. One big problem was the accordian type effect with such a large group. The average speed may be 40 mph, but sometimes you may have to do 70mph to catch up. The other big problem is novice riders. These big charity rides attract a lot of solo riders with no experience or club affiliation.. They are not familiar with any rules or hand signals, and it sometimes makes for unsafe situations.

Riding is the fabulous and fantastic thing, but it is having lots of difficulties in it, we need to having the courage and dare to face it. While riding we have to wear the safety things like spectacles, shoes, helmets and motor cycle clothing etc....
