Drain Hose From Under Bike
« on: April 04, 2013, 02:06:55 PM »
You probably know what I'm talking about. The clear tube that has a crimp attached to it, so that you can drain it if need be. A couple rides back,  I drained it and it was pretty gross. This was the first time. I haven't had to do it since. What exactly is this for? Is it bad if there's brown stuff draining?

Thanks in advance!

It drains the crud from crankcase ventilation joining at the forward end of the airbox, atmospheric side. NOT draining this tube will cause misfire and hesitation. At least the Owner's Manual tells you it is there and to drain it "periodically" but not what it is for. I missed it too!

It collects more crud in cold and wet weather.  which reminds me, we need to get DH to drain mine.
