What I like and don't like about my current scooter

Everything Troutbum said, except my battery has been fine and my dealer has done a good job providing service items(so far). The clock/calendar thing is the weird one since it seems to prefer certain months. This month(March) it has been dead- on accurate!

Yes, March is holding the date just fine so far. 

The battery issue was weird. It was working fine then one day it struggled to start the scooter. After a few days of this it finally could not start no more. All along I had left it on a tender when not riding. The battery was 6 months old. The dealer gave me a new one under warranty and from the moment I hooked it up to the scooter it was a dead. Placed it on a tender for nearly 2 and a half days with no change. The dealer swapped it out under warranty, but this time with a Yausa. It has been starting fine ever since.

Ah, another thing about the Super 8 is the low price... great price.... 

Vivo: The Super 8 has gone up yet another $100.00 this year to $2499.00 retail price here in the USA (it started @ $2299.00) I still think it's a soild value @ $2499.00, but not if it gets another increase next year. I mean you can score a SYM HD200 for $1,000 more & it's W/C, dual disc brakes & has 15.2HP vs. the Super 8 @ 9.39HP. Plus the SYM is still made in Taiwan. Both have 2-year warranties. I paid $2299.00 for my 2013 Super 8 that I purchased in November in Florida (that's before the Kymco increase) There is simply too much competition as the Chinese are getting much, much better with their QC.

Vivo: Wow those are great prices! I think it's because you simply have more competition in the Philippines then the US & as you mentioned the freight costs are lower. My guess there are scooters everywhere there!!! $1,560.00 for a Super 8? That's insane. I wonder is other things cost less there as well.

I have a 2010 Yager 200 gt  bought new.

Likes:

Nice ride, handling, power.
Cruises well at 55-65 mph.
Beautiful dashboard - excellent controls
Speedometer very accurate according to gps.  A true rarity on a 2 wheeled vehicle.
Step through - flat floor
Nice finish and paint
Excellent fuel economy considering the performance (75-89 mpg USA)
Reliability (so far)
Tons of storage esp with my givi trunk
Not too big. Not too heavy
Good headlight
Kymco owner manual translated better than in the past
Ideally suited for both city and back roads travel
Stock windscreen works well.  No need for a larger one at these speeds
Price $2999.00 + tax and prep.  A bargain.

Dislikes:

Frequent oil and trans oil changes (common to most scoots)
Clock is difficult to reset
OIL Warning light that indicates time for an oil change (stupid)
Seat looks nice but only comfy for about an hour
Under seat light can....and will discharge the battery if seat left open.

That's about it.  A wonderful purchase so far with unique features.

Almost everything is cheap except American stuff..you know..import taxes, etc... That's why lots of foreigners retire here...  As for motorbikes, we have around 4 million registered motorcycles here in our small country... smaller than New Mexico....

Good ergo's for my 6'3 frame

It's a "big" small scooter

Punchy enough to lane split and leave traffic well behind on city streets

Good top end at 60mph give or take, strong pull there on flat roads

Very good handling imo once the stock tires are changed. Even changing just the rear makes a dramatic difference

Good under seat storage. And its a wide seat

Easy to maintain and work on I am finding. And bulletproof reliable for 2 and 1/2 years

Only cost $1600OTD with full warranty

Ir's red. Red is the fastest color 

Honestly guys I can go on and on and on. I find little fault with this scooter. And not because its mine, it just hasn't any glaring shortcomings for a 125cc scooter

DISLIKES:

The instrument cluster borders on "not there," is outdated in style, and poorly lit at night

The "racing stripe" graphics on the leg shield.  I took 'em off and put red reflective tape that matches the scoot

Could use a brighter, whiter headlight as well as a brighter tail light. Will get to it one day.

More power! Does everything EASILY and QUIETLY!
Great panel sorta like the Burgman with two trip odometers and the oil change odometer. I use the oil odo for keeping an eye on fuel so I don't have to watch that light come on every 600 miles!
Good fit and finish.
Great access for radiator cap. Thoughtful access for PDI analyzer and seat latch cable adjustment.
Adjustable brake levers( did not know I needed them!)
Bigger wheels and tires!
Great handling, feels lighter than it is.
I am sure I will find more....

Dislikes:

Luggage rack nearly unusable.
Owner's manual marginal, incomplete.
OEM battery sucks.
I am sure I will find more.....

Kymco Yager, Yeager, Ager - "Wait, What is it?!?!?!":

Likes:
- Headlights - NICE AND BRIGHT - especially on high beams
- Quick start
- Light - easy to handle and maneuver
- Disc breaks front and back
- Turn signals
- Its ugliness
- Instrument panel is large and easy to read
- Storage - holy cow there's tons of storage. And then there's the running board where I've stowed a couple 50lb bags of Oil Dry lol
- Helmet Lock
- Plastic body is easy to clean
- Maintenance is super easy
- Liquid cooled
- Great gas mileage
- Able to keep up with highway traffic

Dislikes:
- The name and sticker are just horrendous. When people ask me what I have, I say, "A Kymco." When they ask what model, I say, "175cc, liquid cooled." lol I've learned to keep it simple after too many conversations, and too many, "What's?
- It's freaking UGLY  (sometimes I like it and sometimes I despise it)
- Condensation on instrument panel on hot days
- Seat, the damn seat, ow my prostate! When I was riding several hundred miles a week, I was feeling it on my man parts. I had to go to the doctors a couple times, too. lol I tried EVERYTHING to make that damn thing more comfortable, but nothing worked completely. It would just allow me more time to ride before it felt like my area was going to burn off in pain. 
- Vapor locks in warm to hot temps too damn easy. It's simple to just leave the cap off, but it's still in extra step, at times that just annoys me.

The pro's for me definitely outweigh the cons. I have to say my biggest con is that my dealer finds it humorous to answer any questions about my scooter. I gave them about 5 grand in cash, you'd think they'd love me, right? Well, one advantage of this is that it made me seek out this forum!
