Replace all but headlight w/LED - Help?
« on: April 20, 2013, 03:03:59 PM »
Hello, I would like to replace brake, tail, and front running lights with LEDs. To make myself more visible to all those Ohioans with cell phones.
(102% women drivers; 70% of the men)
[Will not replace the turn signals FR or RR as think these will act up w/LEDs.]
See the difference these Philips LED DRL's  make as I installed them on my wife's xB Scion.
OK, watched a video on doing this straighforward procedure by a Vespa guy on the Left Coast - but his scooter company used screws to place the lights on the scooter. Kymco seems to have used vacuum seals or magic in their assembly. (did they do this because they installed Magic-Life-Time-Bulbs in there?)

LEDs are so much brighter, use less juice and light quicker than reg bulbs - surely people are interested in putting in LEDs - or are we ALL to be  defeated by Kymco's assembly methods?! HECK NO said a guy in the midwest...and maybe one guy in New Jersey who misunderstood the question.

So, I will now get a nice cuppa Joe and ...........wait for help.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I am in the process of replacing several bulbs on my Like.  I finally received in the mail the last parts to switch my headlight over to an HID unit, but there is a concern it may pull too much current.   I got some 7 watt LED driving light bulbs that will be going in at the same time to replace the puny stock ones.

Now, I have found a 30 watt LED H4 (that's what I've been told our Likes use) headlight bulb that if the HIS light pulls to much current then I'll be switching to it.

I have another thread regarding this that I am keeping updated with pictures as I progress on this.
