I just bought an '06 Super 9 from a younger fellow that said it had been modified when he got it but he didnt know exactly what mods had been done.  I am new to the scooter world (which I have found very interesting since the breakthrough,) and have no experience modifying them except from what I have learned online. The scooter runs like a half beat dog in a hornets nest, it has no rev limiter and will go as fast as you want it to go (no speed details, because it climbs past the end of speedo taching out at about 10k,) the scooter doesnt start to move until about 4500 rpm. It has a visible aftermarket exhaust but besides that I have no clue as to what other mods have been done. I have noticed some popping at low rpm, which I read was the fuel burning too rich so I thought a cold air intake mounted directly to the carb would help the situation. Well it didnt, resulting in nearly not running at all. After riding back home this morn stopping every 1/8 mile or so to try carb adjustments, some research,  and trial and error I managed to get it halfway running again. I would love to know if anyone has an idea as to what other mods could have been done, how to adjust the stock carb without the performance kit, and what other issues could be resolved with a little know how and info. Please respond if you have any ideas.

Well if it was already reving to 10,000 it was pretty much dialed in.

The higher revs at take off are done by swapping the contra spring, a higher
performance scoot won't make much power on the bottom so you have to
rev higher to take off.

The intake is tuned similar to the exhaust so removing the airbox and using
a pod filter is not recommended.

The poping on the low end might be too lean. A plug chop will tell you if you need to
go to a bigger jet. Err on the rich side on a 2 stroke unless you want to seize the piston...

thanks, I upgraded with a carb kit with main jet 100 and it is unbelievable. Thank you for the reply
