Great Charger for Downtown 300i
« on: June 14, 2013, 08:14:36 PM »
Actually a great charger for any bike but the extra cable is great to leave connected to the DT. I attached the battery cable to the PDA cable since its easy to remove and get access to the weather proof end of the battery cable. It connects to the G1100 Genius charger  1.1 amp from NOCO. Its a very intelligent charger and maintainer. It sells for around $40.00 - $45.00 in the internet but if you go to  http://www.geniuschargers.com/G1100 and see the charger. It comes with 2 sets of leads. It also has a 2 year warranty that I just tested and its great.
I used mine on a very deep cycle boat battery an damaged the charger so I called and told them my charger was damaged, I sent it in and they sent me a brand new charger for free right away. Very happy with company so I thought I let everyone know. It also diagnoses your battery, good for 6 and 12V batteries.
The greatest is that I don't have to remove the seat to charge my battery and it's has a weather proof fuse holder with fuse.
Check it out great unit.

I was wondering if there was a way to set up the battery charger whereby you needn't have to remove the seat. Sounds like you're on to something. I'll need to check it out.  Could you post a pic or two on what you did? I'd appreciate. Thanks.

I will try to get you a pic, but click on the link on my post and you will see 2 sets of cables one with round eyes for the battery bolts and the other one has clamps like a normal battery charger they both come with a inline fuse. The one that you connect permanently to the battery also has a weather proof connector with cover to connect to the charger. Its very easy and really nice quality wires and charger.

You have to remove the seat to put the initial cable on. I have a battery tender jr and also have the cable next to the PDA cable. The seat will close with the charger plugged in.
