Reed Valve P250
« on: June 04, 2013, 01:21:06 AM »
Hello folks,
I have a 2006 Kymco Peoples 250 scooter. The U-shaped metal pipe comp tube that attaches to the top of the reed valve which is located on the valve cover gets very hot.  The tube starts to glow red when I´m on the freeway. I am quite puzzled as to what the reed valve does and why the tube gets so hot. Can I take off the metal pipe comp tube and simply plug those ports? I´m not even sure which way the hot air is flowing through the metal pipe comp tube.  Also the rubber hose that attaches to the bottom side of the reed valve has disintegrated from the heat.  Any info would be appreciated.
