Is this scooter also known as a "grand dink 250" ?
« on: July 16, 2013, 08:21:42 PM »
Hello, I am needing a longer, beefier shock for my LIKE 200i, I am told that a rear shock from a Grand Dink 250 might work.
Could someone please measure your rear shock and tell me the length --- eye of mounting hole to eye of mounting hole on clevis end
. And your shock is an eye at the top and a u-shaped mount at bottom (clevis), yes?
Thanks much!

Hi, the distance center bolt top to bolt bottom is exactly 300 mm mounted, measured the scooter being on the center stand.

Now, the rear shocks on the Grand Vista/Dink are not the strongest either, OK for one up, but mediocre for two up.  Just that you know.

do you have a spring suspension shop in your area, they could make any Wt. spring you want,.  and you keep the same shocks,.

Thank you for measuring for me. Shoot, I think my stock LIKE shocks are about 340mm.....OK, glad I didn't go down that $$ road. Will keep looking - but am being pointed by 2 Kymco parts dealers to look at motorcycle shocks. You know, putting on an inch longer shock with beefier spring should not be such an issue to find.

Really, several guys are looking for me to help with this issue. We need  stronger shock, or longer shock, or both!  There is very little body/muffler clearance when I sit....and of course very little suspension travel left, as well.
