Kymco 50cc engines in general
« on: August 26, 2011, 11:36:14 AM »
According to motorscooterguide.net, "The Cobra Cross was a 50cc 2-stroke scooter that shared its engine with every other 2-stroke 50cc Kymco model sold in North American. These engine sharing siblings include the Super 9, ZX 50, Agility 50 and Vitality 50 2T. The engine is a clone of Honda’s AF18E motor created by Kymco when these two companies parted ways in the 90’s."

So, I bought an 01 Cobra Racer and the previous owner said the coil needs to be replaced because of weak spark.  How compatible are parts for these 50cc scooters??  I am finding sites that offer parts for other Kymco 50cc but I am having difficulty locating ones for this model.

Thanks

Some of the 2 stroke engines are a vertical engine, but some I think are a horizontal engine. When looking for parts for my zx50, I also look under honda dio as a lot of the parts will fit.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.
