100 miles baby....WOOHOO!!
« on: August 25, 2013, 07:57:49 AM »
I went out for a ride tonight and passed the 100 mile mark on my Like. Its running smooth as silk. It really seems to want to go 40 to 45mph. That seems to be its sweet spot. It also zooms up to 40 in a couple seconds with my big 280lb butt on it with no problem. I have seen several people on here saying it gets better with every mile. Mine seems to be doing just that. I am very happy with my Like purchase so far. I can't wait to buy something I can transport it in so I can get it out of town and ride in much prettier places. I'm dying to do the ride from Prescott to Jerome. A very cool ride from what I hear.
I hope everyone is as happy with there scoots as I am and I hope everyone rides safe, mscmkr

It gets much better later. I really noticed a significant improvement at around 600 miles. I have over 2700 miles on mine now. I think it still may be breaking in. For example, it runs better now than it did at 2000 miles. Mine doesn't burn any oil, so I probably did a good job of breaking it in. I did not break it in as conservative as Kymco suggests. For example, I was doing full throttle when I wanted at 500 miles.

About 2400 miles after this AM ride with the deer, chipmunks and rabbits. (like a Disney movie out there in the State park!)
I did the break-in according to the manual for 1000 miles - takes patience to stick with it and you must stay off higher speed streets. Since I was new to scoots I used this time to get myself broken in, as well.
I think I've had full throttle maybe 10 mins total.
Using no oil.
Actually, I thought it ran good from day one.....have seen no change, still running fine!
81 mpg on today's fuel stop.(BP 93)
This 163cc engine has a lot of pep in hauling around a quater ton of weight. Crazy quick if I need to be, from light to light.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Dang Stig. I'm getting 65mpg. My riding is pretty much 100% city though. Maybe that's why. I ride faster too. I'll cruise at 50 routinely, and even ride at 60 if traffic is fast around me.

You are well on your way. At nearly 5,000 miles my Like is riding nice and smooth. Average mpg is 80.3. It does drop to around 74 mpg when I ride at speeds above 50 mph for long periods of time. I found a nice back country road that takes me past two reservoirs.  The road is smooth and rarely do I come upon another vehicle riding the 38 mile stretch of road. The speed limit is 45 mph and the Kymco purrs at that speed. Above that and it gets a little throaty. Not v-twin throaty, but throaty all the same. ;D

Mine just turned over 2000 miles yesterday.  I did the 4th oil change on it (200 miles, 500 miles, 1000 miles, and again at 2000 miles) and as everyone else is saying, it seems to get smoother with age.  Mine has used a bit of oil in between oil changes, but I think I am the hardest on my Like compared to anyone else on here.  I frequently am at full throttle for several minutes at a time non-stop, and have even ridden at full throttle for over an hour straight on 2 occasions!!  The best mpg I have seen is 67 mpg, mostly in town.  The worst mpg is 48 mpg on one of the full throttle for over an hour trips with luggage strapped to the seat behind me, rear cargo box full, and saddle bags full.
