Fuel issue

Hi, Can anyone tell me if there is a fuel pump on my 2004 people 50? I've replaced the spark plug, (and getting a good spark) cleaned the carborater, replaced the lines and replaced the petcock. Added a fuel filter as well which was suggested by the local Kymco dealer. Still it won't start. Now that the hoses are clear, I can see that no fuel is being transferred to the carborater, Just an occational spurt. Is there a fuel pump on this thing? If there is, there isn't any info on the internet about it. A little help?

Your scooter has a vacuum operated petcock. Disconnect the vacuum line that operates it from it's source and suck on it (be very sure it is the vacuum line). You will have to hold suction on it till the fuel works through your filter and lines down to the carb and fills the bowl. You can open the bowl drain to verify the bowl is receiving the fuel. Be sure the bowl vent hose is not plugged off as this will make it difficult to get fuel as well. The vent hose is the one that comes up out of the carb and loops back down through the cast loop on the carb. If you still can not get fuel, try removing the fuel cap while you suck on the vac line. From your post, if you do these things and still have no fuel, the nipple on the fuel tank would have to be clogged up.
