Well, it must be about 5:30 or 6:00 AM the day I took these photos.
Colder'n heck for today's morning ride (42 degrees) had to cut my ride 1/2 hr shorter as I was freezing up with a smile on my face. Time to put the liner back inthe mesh jacket!

I don't like the cold either. I have layers and layers and layers on during my morning rides. Nothing stays comfortable and keeps your face warm though.

A hot cup of caffeine helps a little.

Try a Balaclava Facemask. I use one during the winter months. Definitely helps to warm the face. They usually cost less than $25.

I have many balaclavas that will keep me warm but that was why I added the comfort part.
From military, to hunting, to race car/motorcycle ones I can't find one that will be comfortable enough for me to keep using.

Nike makes a balaclava that I like better than any of the motorcycle/scooter ones I've tried.

As a long time daily naked motorcycle rider in Canada, something like this turned out to be my favorite solution for keeping my face and neck warm while riding:

Combine that with a full face helmet with a Pinlock insert (never have to crack the visor, never fogs) and you're golden down to 0c, and you don't have to deal with the dreaded "balaclava hair" either. 

A Polar Buff also works, and is useful as a beanie or do-rag when off the scooter too.  And tends to make people less nervous when you stop at an ATM.
