Xciting 500 Compression loss
« on: September 29, 2013, 05:27:21 AM »
Hello All,

My scoot is almost 2 years old and about to expire it's warranty.  I've reported a compression loss of 25psi.  The dealer I got it from has confirmed the compression loss via a leak down test and said that he could hear the air coming out of the engine/crank.  He seemed to think that it wasn't worth worrying about and said that he would be hard pressed getting it fixed under warranty.

Would you like to have a 25psi compression loss after just 18,000klms/11184mi?

What are people's thoughts?

polite but furious.  Call spartanburg sc asap.  Kymcousa and get it covered under warranty.
I wish I could ride more and drive less!

Tighten up the head bolts first, and adjust the valves while you are there, and if that does not work then it is a ring on the piston. It should be covered under warranty. Never heard of this happening before?  >:( :( :'( :-*

Thank you all.  ( Sorry for late reply )

Update:  Couldn't be bothered going 30 rounds with the heavy weights ( Dealer + KYMCO ).  They were willing to fix the issue if I produced receipts for all my parts that I have been servicing the bike with.

Are you really going to keep a receipt for a spark plug or Oil filter?   So, in short I let the matter go.

Cheers!
