Traction control on scooters?

Wonder if any of the maxiscoots have traction control.

Seems a pretty simple idea: sensors detect difference in rear wheel rpm vs the front wheels and reduce output from engine until speeds match.

Add ABS and Bob's Your Uncle ~! Stig's riding in snow this winter!





Even better demonstration of ABS.



There is simply no way an expert driver or rider can match ABS braking......and in panic stop one would not have the ability or skill to do the max braking with a cool head.IMHO

We don't need ABS, we just need the side wheels.

Don't underestimate the power of mastering the basics.  And dont forget an experienced rider has the ability to look down the road and anticipate in a way a computer never could.

Yep.  The picture I posted of the hex-head zip screws are the poor man's version of those.

Piaggio Beverly 350ST has ABS and traction control as does the Piaggio X10 Executive.

Even more interesting is the new Motorcycle Stability Control system from Bosch which prevents low-sides and allows heavy braking while leaned over.

Traction control? What would be next? Parking assist for scooters?  The more smarter the vehicle, the less skilled would be the driver/rider... My two cents...

Checked your local library? I've found 2 or 3 good riding books and 5 or 6 scooter books there.

Glad I kept my receipt from Lowe's for the 144 bx case of these I bought. I was going to market these as "DIY Winter Scooter Chains" on eBay! Buy a pair of big wheeled scoots with the profits and move to Provence, or maybe Avignon.....
