I'm glad I found this forum! I have a 2009 XCiting 500Ri that I purchased in April. It had only a couple of miles on it when I bought it so it basically sat around for four year. Anyway, it has been working fine all summer, no problems at all. The last time I was able to ride was a little over three weeks ago. It's kept in the garage so it's not out in the cold. Here in Seattle it doesn't get that cold anyway - right now it's in the 50s at night. Yesterday morning I went out to take it to work and I tried to start it. I put the key in and turned in to the right, all the lights came on, dashboard lit up. I tried to start it and it tried to crank over but didn't. Tried again and same thing. Third time all I got out of the engine was a single click. I tried multiple times and each time I got the same result - 1 click. So, I charged the battery up over night. The charger showed it was fully charged. I tried to start it again multiple times - each time I got 1 click only. I took the battery to O'Reilly to test it, battery shows that it's fine. Came home, hooked it all up again and tried several more times. Same result - 1 click. Each time I tried to start it the lights were on nice and bright and the dashboard was lit up as expected. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be? I'm probably going to have to tow it to the dealer and have them look at it, but if someone knows something that can help that would be great. I wish this thing had a kick starter on it!

Welcome to the forum.... If the battery is fine ... sounds like the starter relay/solenoid switch... If it's just a "click" means no electricity reaches the starter motor... A loose connection in the starter system might also cause this....

Check for loose connections, especially the ground wires, first then check your starter relay....

You will need a volt tester for this... turn the ignition on/start and measure the voltage from the relay to the starter motor, if it reads 12 volts, then the relay is good and your starter motor is bad... if the relay voltage output is way below 12 or none at all, then it's the relay...
