Any tips for an 09 Venox with no Tachometer???
« on: October 13, 2013, 08:10:47 PM »
I can't believe I haven't hit the rev limiter on this thing, an 09 Venox does have a rev limiter, right?

I was wondering how high I can rev these gears without red-lining, I thought you guys might know how fast I can go in each gear.

Right now, when I'm trying to accelerate quickly, I take 3rd gear up to 40mph, and I take 4th gear up to 60mph.

This is about as high as I want to go, it feels like Im at the end of these gears, is this deceptive?  Could I be taking these gears further?

They sell digital RPM meters at most auto parts stores.

Beats me how to connect them or what your max revs are but you can gear her up to a sound that sounds uncomfortable for your eng. and keep her 500 rpm shy of that mark until you locate the info you need.

The venox has a rev limiter...

Your bike is a v-twin cruiser and not a circuit racer and I'd guess the redline would be in the vicinity of 6,000 rpm....

Or one wire wrapped on plug wire on the "TTO Trail Tech" tachometer.
Works well on my scoot.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

The redline is around 10000 rpm on the Venox. The DOHC 8-valve design allows high revving like a muscle bike.
