Frozen off my scoot, almost.
« on: October 20, 2013, 07:58:24 PM »
After 75 mins. this morning I had to pull over at the park ranger station and get my rain pants out from under the seat. 75 mins of riding in the dark with wind and temps in the high 30's - I had to cave in and admit that it is now getting cold in Ohio.
I still totalled 2.5 hrs on the scoot - but ......

Yrs ago in Mass. I rode my Honda into the winter -20 miles to work. I had a set of rubberized nylon pull-over jacket and pants, both with elastic cuffs. Rubberized nylon is totally wind proof - so I could wear a sweater and nice clothes underneath. It wasn't a slicker - just light weight rubber/nylon.

Looking hard for a set like this now. Snow flurries in forecast in 3 days.

A nurse in Tim Horton's this morning asked , "Isn't it cold on that thing?"
I had to admit,  it might be time to re-visit the whole idea of these pre-dawn 2 hour rides.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

First of all, I'm envious of your ability to go to Tim Horton's.. I don't have one local..

Second, I'm often asked the same thing about cold weather.. I reply that nobody ever asks me this when I get off a snowmobile, but somehow it's weird to ride a motorcycle when it's cold? :)
