UPDATE: My People 150 vs. Drunk driver in pickup
« on: October 20, 2013, 10:17:45 PM »
Insurance adjuster came by the scooter shop where my P150 is waiting on Friday and gave me the news: more damage to the front fork area than originally thought, and they are going to TOTAL my scoot.  :'(

Good news is that they are settling on a payment that is only $150 less than I paid for it. So now I just need to find a new ride. Not sure what I will end up with, but have been looking at a PCH 150 and a few others. Definitely will stay with a 150 or larger. Decisions, decisions....

Maybe be patient....hard to do.
But at this time of year the scooter season is over in a lot of places.
You might be able to find a very nice 'left over' or low mileage trade-in,  or , better, a private seller ready to get out of scooting with a low mileage 150 - 200cc scooter.
Always amazed at all the scooters on the market with fewer miles than my "new" scooter has (3400)= which I consider barely broken-in.
Wish you luck, and let us know what you come home with!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Good luck but I think a People 150 is a very solid scoot...

Agree with Vivo on the People 150.  One thing to keep in mind is the 16" wheels on the P150 vs the 12" wheels on the PCH 150....would definitely make for a different ride.  Good luck!

14" wheels on the PCX, btw. Not so different, really.

Well, I finally got another scooter. By the way, I really appreciate all the input - you are all such a great source of information! I really wanted another P150, but there just aren't any around this area. The closest one was about 250 miles away, so I started test driving other scoots at the local shops. It came down to a SYM HD 200 or the Lance PCH 150 (also a SYM product). I loved the HD 200, but just didn't have the extra $1100 in the budget, so I bought the Lance PCH 150. It is very smooth and quiet, and handles great with very quick acceleration. The only drawback is the ride is a bit more bumpy with the 14 inch tires, but not a lot of difference. It definitely will cut corners quicker that the People, and it has a larger floorboard area. But I will always be a Kymco fan. That was a fantastic scooter and I will really miss it! Damn drunk driver really screwed up one fantastic ride.
