Ideas for small items up front?

Would like to have a small setup in the front area for carrying small items. I put a T-box on my 2006 P250, it's good for rain gears and tools etc. But it requires the key to open and close. Underseat storage was ok, but have to shut down the engine and turn the key to release. I go to Post Office everyday, most of the time with few regular letters in hand. So, currently I just hang a small bag on the hook to take care of these letters. it works, but sometimes just left the bag there, one day, somebody will just take it.....
Besides, will like to see if I can put a bottle of water in the area. The bag will do, but hanging by that hook only, it just swings both ways when the scooter turns, and I don't really like it. Hope the setup will be more secure. Please share with me if you have put something there to help out with your small items. Thanks in advance.

The P250 allows you to open the underseat without shutting off the engine. Simply push the key in, and turn to the left.

I'll tell you what I did to get storage up front.
a simple fanny pack. You can put a pad and pen,
camera, letters to be mailed, I have found all
sorts of things to put in my fanny pack and it fits
around the windshield brackets just fine. and hangs
down right in front of you for easy access.

Unfortunately not on 250 S, even though the manual says it is possible to open the underseat without turning the engine off.
Of course, the manual also says that you can open the tank latch by using the ignition key, while in reality there is a separate keylock.

If nothing else, it does not say it has a kickstart and diesel engine!

Thank you. I tried it this morning. It actually worked. That took care of at least 80% of the problem. Any other nice tricks that I need to know about ....

That actually was a good idea. So, I brought my fanny back to my People 250. Well, did  not seem to have a place to attach to. Do you happen to have a picture of yours to share? or maybe my bag is a bit bigger than yours. Thanks.

I do have a picture and I will dig it out and post it. But the way
I fastened it was to run the straps under the handle bars and over
the wind shield brackets and fasten over the top of the headlight
on the inside of the windshield. I will find a picture and post.

No more than you will be able to store where the battery is currently located, I would suggest leaving the battery where it is and installing some sort of external storage compartment on the back of the leg shield somewhere.  I did this on my SYM Fiddle II and it turned out great.  The storage compartment you will see in the photo should  be available at a local auto parts store, but you might have to look around at a few stores to find one.  I got mine at Advance Auto here in NC.  What is it you want to stow away anyway?  I use my storage container for things like a cell phone, camera, sunglasses, gloves, etc....mainly items I may want to get to quickly and/or easily.  Anyway, see attached and good luck finding a storage solution.

By the way, I also own an '07 People 50, but no storage mods yet.  I did do a mod on the passenger pegs so each peg would lock into place so I could rest my size 10 feet/shoes on the pegs as opposed to on the floorboard where space is limited...see second photo for that mod.

I love it. I ride (P150) with My size 13's out on the pegs too. My problem is that when Wifey gets on the back, I can fit My feet on the platform, but the pegs are too far forward for Her to reach. She is short. Got a passenger footpeg mod ?

Looks like a great idea!  Any problems with scuffing the finish?  Looks like a good spot to keep the 3 garage door openers I have, along with lots of other little stuff.

Not so far, but I've not put much weight in it... just light items.

I would caution folx to route the waiststrap under the throttle and brake cables... doesn't seem like a good idea to let anything put additional strain on those mission-critical components.
