Kymco Super 9 STARTING INTIMITANT ISSUE
« on: November 07, 2013, 09:57:36 PM »
Hi, I own a 2005 kymco super 9. It's been struggling to start. Most days its starts perfectly on the electric, but about once a week or more often it'll take 10 mins to start or just not start at all even with the kick. Other times I'll start it, it will tick over for 10 secs and then die off and not start 1st thing I did was change fuel vacuum tap valve as I thught it was a fuel flow issue, worked great for a few days then didn't start again. Fuel is coming through the carb though, and once she's started she runs like a dream in all cases. Also replaced spark plug and spark plug cap, which after doing so the bike worked fine. But again after a couple of days I'm back to square 1. Any ideas???

Cheers, Rob

Remove the carb, intake and reeds. Clean the carb and most important the pilotjet

Check the reeds and see if its worn or if its not closing as it should.
