Thinking out loud here:
Areas in the USA are listing new KYMCO LIKE 200i's for less than $2K , now.
Some buyers have paid @$3300 out the door for theirs.
Used LIKE's do not seem to command a high % of their initial purchase price.(is this true across the KYMCO line in the States?)
Used Japanese scooters have a higher resale value.
One Taiwanese scooter does, too. SYM.
I am in Ohio, there are 11 KYMCO dealers within 100 miles of me - and 2 SYM dealers.
The SYM scooter seems much harder to service than my LIKE is.
SYM seems to have trouble providing parts - although from my quick search, there seem to be parts dealers on line.
Neither SYM nor KYMCO advertise in the USA.
A used SYM is worth more than a used KYMCO - why is that? Word-of-mouth reputation? Model desirability?
Hmmm.
