Super 8 150 Carb Adjustment
« on: November 12, 2013, 06:22:33 PM »
Long story short... the auto choke wiring was backwards on my 2012 People 150. Now that the auto choke is working properly (pulled it off, tested it, works) when the auto choke goes "off" and the fuel circuit is leaner, the bike runs rough. Previously, when the auto choke not functioning and the fuel circuit being much richer, the bike ran great once warmed up. However I was getting full throttle bogs. Bike is stock with 2200K.

Anyway, I pulled the cap off the fuel mixture screw but there is no screw inside... just a round brass fitting with a flat side. Pic:

How do I turn this screw-type thing?

Thanks

Lou

Check your local motorcycle shop or auto parts supplier. They sell carb adjusting tools with various tips on them. Just find one that matches your mixture screw. They usually look like this and have a flexible shaft to reach into tight places.

It's subtle, but it is actually single-"D" shaped, and takes a bit like this:

Or if you have a .223 caliber shell casing... you can flatten one side to make the "D" shape...

Cool! Just ordered the tool off amazon. Vito, neat idea for a adaptation... but for $5.00 I will stock my tool box  with the proper tool :)

OK, so this is strange. I ordered the Motion Pro D Shape 08-0242 tool and it is too large for the screw? Anyone have any insight?

I ordered the exact bit linked above.

Thanks
