The need for more cc's?

I was just wondering if any Like 200i owners were wanting more horses from there trusty steed? I love my bike like crazy and ride it as often as I possibly can. But I will say I would not mind having just a bit more in reserve for when I need it. I was looking at a 300cc Kymco, (at least I think that's what it was) before I bought my Like but it was almost $5000. Just a bit to pricy for me.
     I have no regrets buying my Like because I do love it to death. Maybe someday I will add another scoot to the family with some more cc's?

Seriously:
I would like a bit more CC's as well....but also I want the stability of a big wheeled scoot (16" wheels)
Since Kymco sells only the 300cc People now, at $5400 - it is too big and too much.
So, maybe the Scarabeo - but hard to get 'round here -harder to service.

Which leaves the 3 from SYM - all are significantly less than the Kymco 300 People.
The SYM 300 , $4700, 16" wheels, 263cc's
The SYM RV 200, $3700, 13/12" wheels, 171cc's (rated @ 72mph)
The SYM HD 200, $3500, 16" wheels, 171 cc's (rated @ 72 mph)
The HD 200 would be my choice - it is only a few cc's more than our LIKE's but they are getting that 10mph more speed out of it - which so many LIKE owners here are trying to accomplish (without much real success it seems) - and I hope that they will still be offering them in a yr or 2 when I get ready to buy.
I have heard issues of parts avail. problems - but a local dealer claims he is no longer having serious issues getting parts. (read the sad story of the Carter Bros. distr. crash of a few yrs ago)
The SYM's are also Taiwanese made. (= very well made)
Our LIKE's are Taiwan design - Chinese made.

I see the fellow on eBay is once again trying to sell his red LIKE 200i - and listing it with a top speed of 90mph.  He did not respond to correcting that mistake when I contacted him the previous time - to sell it as having a top speed of 90mph will mislead people into thinking it is capable of cruising the interstate highway safely at 70-75 mph! We all know better than that. Over a cliff might see 75......
I too am enjoying the heck out of my LIKE 200i - I feel it was a pretty good choice for a guy buying his first scooter.....from a dealer who would not budge on the price
I also did not know anything about SYM's - or that they had a dealer 15 miles away, or that there are "left over" new scoots within 100 miles at very much better prices.

I sort of agree with this.  I have a 500cc now.  I used to ride the Burgman 400 model.  That bike was great for cruising and highway speeds (just like my Xciting), however it also weighed about 100 more pounds (45.3 KG) more.

That 100cc and 100 less pounds makes the Xciting a sport bike compared to the Burgman.

Don't think cc's are the only thing that can make a bike feel faster.  Weigh matters too.

I think 99% of American males would agree with you about always wanting more HP in their vehicles.
But, there is that other 1% who like scooters.
I have a life-long history with VW's and Scion xB's....most of which could be outrun by a good WalMart bicycle.
(the slow, small engined VW's - like the heavy & small engined Vanagon I drove for 21 yrs)...
So, I know there are not a lot of folks of my ilk - slow is OK, small is OK....scooters are OK (rather than a motorcycle)
...not many - but there are some!
Truly - a 200 cc scoot would be just fine with some of us. Recall - I tried like heck to come home with a Metropolitan or a Vino - for my 35mph commute - but the salesman and my kids talked me out of it. I guess 6'3" was, maybe, possibly, too tall for these fine little scoots! (I was trying to work out a way to grip the bars behind my legs!)

I would hope you will get a lot of gentle flack on this SCOOTER forum about a scooter owner's desire to have 500 cc's! (probably not)
Precision, well crafted, well engineered, reliable, easily maintained - that is what I find sexy. Not cubic inches.

Nah Stig!  We had a muscle car with a big block Mopar V8 engine!!! American muscle! And I just loved it!!! Hot roddin' and drag racin' since I was twelve!!!  ... and I'm not even American!

Mr. Stig with all due respect please pay attention to the intent of op on this thread. 

Extra cc's add additional control to any two-wheeler and 500 cc's imo is the sweet spot for anyone who ventures on roads with a posted speed limit of 45mph and above.  Sure, 250, 300, 400cc machines are capable of 75mph+ but the reserve power to effectively accelerate out of a situation just isn't there.

Now there is the argument for a smaller more tossable scooter especially for around town, but same owner of tossable scooter will likely feel the urge for performance creep...  As for desiring a putt putt machine that makes you a danger to both yourself and to overtaking traffic I have no comment.

THE best smell (non female) I've ever experienced was my new navy blue '71 Super Beetle. The carpet, headliner, paint, rubber bits - Heaven! My first new car. I drove the salesman crazy - there were probably 8 navy blue new Bugs on the lot. I told him to go back inside because I was going to spend an hour or so checking in, over and under them to pick out the one I wanted. He thought I was joking. 1/2 hour later watching me checking the stitching on the seats - he finally  went back inside. $2120 OTD.
Ah, but the Crown Jewel was the '73 curved wind screen Super Beetle. Leaf green with tan leatherette. (think Porsche colors) I was in there buying a set of points for the '71 - drove home in the h u g e 1973 Beetle. (so weird not to have the glass in front of your nose! Felt like a Buick!)
