« on: November 19, 2013, 02:15:57 AM »
In my country, only those with 400cc and up engines are allowed on super highways..

I will be waiting for this Xciting 400 to land on our shores.... started to save already...

Saw on one of these yesterday at the Kymco dealer here in Taiwan while stocking up on a few parts/accessories to take back to the states - looks very sharp in person.   Didn't think to ask for a test ride (probably pointless in the congested Taiwan city traffic here), but did sit on it to see how it would fit.   At 5'11", 32-in. inseam, seating seemed to be just about right.

Vivo,
We here in the Small Scooter Camp wish to forward this suggestion to you.
When you get this 400cc Monster, if it is a 2 cylinder - remove one of the spark plugs for more fun. 400 cc's is at least 200cc's excessive! (remember the newbie Australian fellow who has a Kymco in every room of his house! Don't be excessive.)

My purpose really is to zoom on the freeways.. overtaking buses and just zooming.... can't do that with a 200cc...  Remember,..we don't follow speed limits here...  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

What's available here right now is the SYM Maxsym 400i... at 318,000 pesos or around $7,400.00... But I think the Kymco looks better...

SYM Maxsym 400i
...looks bulbous...

Is your super highway like the super highway in germany???, no limit,  just drive safe,  the 400i has 26.5 hp. @7,000 and 37 ft. lb. @6,000, wt. 193 kg.  should be good on the highway, lots of torque for passing those busses,.  front tire 120/70  15   rear 150/70  14  its making me want a new scoot, damn it!   no worry there  it will take forever to get to canada, with abs and traction control,. they dont know we seniors like that safety,

What would you say is the max speed you could get away with if a cop saw you?

Here in the states it's a gen rule of thumb (NJ) you can go over by 10 or less on the highway. Some states it's 5 others are more liberal and as long as your safe (say 80 mph) they don't go after you.

No regular cops on the expressways... just highway security and they are everywhere... no car can outrun their two-way radios... They don't hide and they can't hide...so you can slow down when you see them...

A bit of information:  Policemen don't do traffic.. they are called when crimes are committed.  We have Traffic Aides under the Mayor's Office...  The Police force is under the National Government and not under the Office of the Mayor.  The expressways are managed by private groups so they have their own security force.

A private group? So they have motive to lie.
