Wrong place, always wrong time
« on: August 18, 2009, 05:26:14 PM »
Since I posted my rant about scootertronics.com I received a phone call from the owner mike today at work. He said he saw my recent post on this forum and wanted to address the issue. After talking to him for a few minutes I felt like we were coming to a resolution of my problems with parts and customer service. He said he will be sending me a new rocker arm assembly for the ticking I've been having problems with on my 85cc kit and offered any help he could give. I thought this to be good customer service,  so I wanted to re post and give it all a second chance, as we are all human. I know I've had my fair share of second chances so here it goes. I will definitely keep you all updated.

I took My 50cc Jonway scooter to scootertronics in Sykesville, MD. with a variator that I had bought from ebay. I wanted them to install the variator an 85cc cyl kit that I was to purchase through them, and rejet the carb. I already had instaled an exhaust. They had My bike for a month, 3 weeks waiting for parts. When I went to pick it up I had to wait for My new batt to charge and witnessed a sample of how the buisiness is run. Mike is 90% into his band and 10% into His buisiness, and that day He was more than half an hour late to open His own store. I was 15min early, lol.  They do have a good mechanic. They do not stock any parts to speak of. Just a few shelves on the wall in the back, and a wall of stuff in the showroom. Its a sad looking little place although they did seem to have a little remodeling going on. You are better of buying Your parts off Ebay, I think Scootertronics does.

Wow, hope Mike is a good musician 'cause I doubt he's going to make much money in the scooter business. Could have been worse. You could have bought a scooter from him. Thank The Great Scooter that he's not a KYMCO dealer.

His website sure talks a good game, doesn't it?

I have read in other forums, similar stories! Your first hand visit verifies, they only order what is ordered from them in good faith. The internet is a deep dark  place. ( or is it a place)

i recently placed an order at scootertronics for a 47mm head for my 70cc kit...an air filter and slider weights. a few days after I placed the order my credit card company called saying there were some unusual activity on the card. There was a charge from some company in japan for around $250..and a charge of $50 for an online dating membership or something. So I wanted to cancel my card. I wanted to see if the $250 was maybe parts that were ordered by scotertronics even though my order total was only $130. I called scootertronics to see if they charged me for my order and the lady I spoke with said they did. I checked my card to see if the charge was there but the only thing that showed up were those two odd charges. Im not saying it was scootertronics that is responsible for those charges but it does seem kind of odd to me. I hadnt made any purchases recently prior to scootertronics.

I received my order today but they only sent the slider weights and head..and the head/valves are the exact same size as my stock head..I ordered a 47mm for my 70cc kit.
