How best to clean an '05 P150 seat?
« on: December 21, 2013, 05:51:17 PM »
So, just took the girl out for a ride as she'd been covered for a few months out on the streets.

Even so, the debris and schmutz had settled into the seat fabric.

Anyone have a simple, effective cleaning method to deal with the kind of fabric(or what is it?) that this scooter sports?

Thanks,

J.

If you had the scooter covered, how did the dirt get on it ?
Perhaps the dirt is really mildew....  from the moisture trapped under the cover.
If it is mildew, you need a cover that "breathes" and lets the moisture out.

Anyway, do NOT use Armor-All or other such silicone polish because it makes the seat very slick.
Get a soft brush and a quart of water with a spoonful of liquid laundry soap.  Try softly scrubbing the seatcover.
If a stain persists consider that it may be mildew.

I have a cover that has a few slits in it..old.

No doubt time to shop for a new one..shame is it fits the bike perfectly..completely hassle free to throw over bike.

Anyway, I don't think it's mildew as the cover clearly has many openings  :-\

I'll try the soft brush and detergent method you suggested..

Appreciate your reply..
