FYI- Scootr Logic SLHM-1 Scooter Mitts do not work on a LIKE.
They are too small to fit and allow you to reach the switches.
The bar area of the LIKE is too fat up in the switch area.
There are several other kinds out there....so, I will keep looking.

Thanks for posting this!!  I too am trying to find some way to keep my fingers from going numb when riding in really cold weather.

I would look for gloves that are "windproof" as well as waterproof.  Believe it or not, getting a pair of latex gloves (medical type) and wearing them under your regular gloves will help.  The air is trapped under the latex and warmed by your body.  It serves as another layer of insulation against the cold.

I wear a set of motorcycle winter gloves that are windproof and waterproof, but even with wearing some liners in the gloves first, my fingers still end up pink and numb after my 11 mile commute in the mornings.

    Wow!  I ride at 1:30 in the morning home from work and the temp has dropped into the low 30's (under 5 but above 0 C).

If your fingers are doing that I would consider electric gloves or grips.  I've never used them so I don't know the cost or how they work.

These look like they would be a great fit. Looks big enough to fit over the big plastic area, and let you get to the switches.
Just gotta figure out who sells them?!

I rode this morning and it was 18 degrees, bitterly cold, especially at 60 mph!!  The ONLY part of my body that was cold was my fingers as I put some hand warmers in my gloves.  My fingers actually got so cold that I could barely operate the brakes and they started to physically hurt they were so cold. 


Stig, I REALLY like the looks of those mits!  I doubt I'll end up buying those or better gloves though since it rarely gets down below 20 degrees here.  The last time it got down that cold was February of 2011.

Look at snowmobile mitts.  They have a much larger and much cheaper selection of mitts.  If you need to get really big ones and cut them to fit your handlebars.  Use black electrical tape to fasten them around your mirrors and other stuff.

Try getting glove liners from a ski shop for a little extra warmth till you find the right mitts.
