MassScoot, I totally agree with your observations. The 300 GTI was more comfortable in many ways and I really liked the flat floorboards and raised handlebars.
Also, your opinions on the BV350 are spot on: That is one fine looking and technologically advanced scooter. It, like most of the Piaggio's offering are very beautiful. But---their maintenance schedule is intensive and they 'hint' at the fact that all services during the warranty period must be done at the dealer. Of course this is contrary to the USA's Moss-Fergusson act. (Google)
I just went up to the closest Piaggio dealer, a 130 mile ride north, to Kansas City, just to buy a BV350 but it was to cramped for me and the seat was useless for my butt. That is where I saw a used 2012 300 GTI and absolutely loved it. It had 3,300 miles on it, was out of warranty and they wanted $4,800 for it. As I was thinking about it later and running Google searches on KYMCO and dealer availability, I found a 2013, that was 8 months old, with 3,000 miles on it for $4,500. When I went to look at it, it had a few scratches so the dealer too $150 off, so I paid $4,350 for a Xciting 500RI ABS, that is still in warranty and is essentially new.
So far I really like the scoot and the attention to detail that KYMCO put into the thing.
Sam:)
