Tecnigas RS ll on stock ( non 70cc ) super 9 LC ?
« on: January 20, 2014, 08:03:15 PM »
I have a 2004 super 9 LC. Don't want to do the whole 70cc thing.
I've done that a few times before with other kymcos and TGBs.
I do want to use a tecnigas RS 2 pipe I already have.

I understand that it's designed for 70cc but has  anyone had good results with stock cylinder,
re-jet and upgraded variator with the RS2 pipe ?

If so what re-jetting would you recommend. Thanks.

Oh. Also I'm keeping the stock air box so apart from the variator and pipe it will be stock.

HEy man,
IDK if your still around. Lord knows I havent...Lol
I saw your thread and wanted to answer......
YES...
It will work. You can check my black S9 out..
I run the RS2 on the stock cyl./airbox.. (the s9 needs the stock airbox IMO, easier to tune and quieter.
I have the stock cab jetted to a 102(probably needs a tad bigger now with this sh** weather here). I run 55mph  all day..(vids of the black and purple s9 here somewhere...annnnd the ag's 50+mph run)... :D....... yeah I was bragging on myself....Lol Never have mastered it tho of course...
Hope this helps....

Okay thebatman,

My rs2 pipe is finally arriving today. ( a new one - the old one was an rs70
and that's staying on the cobra )

I'll keep you posted on how it turns out.
So I'll try a 120 main jet. Did you up the idle jet or no ?

Right now I get great acceleration right up to 48 indicated and 50 if allowed to wind up for half a mile or so.
I disconnected the rev limiter on the CDI but the stock pipe wont let me go over 8000rpm.

Hoping the rs2 will wake up the high end rev range !

Thanks for the reply ! Sorry I got sidetracked with moving and putting an airsal t6 on the cobra.

You might get away w/ an air screw adjustment but usually any pipe will require an idle jet swap. Most often one size up. The mix screw will tell you. More than 3/12 turns out or less than one turn in will tell the tale. (i forget if they are air or fuel adjusters on those carbs.)
