Breaking-in rpm limit for dt 300i

Hi there , i would like to know if someone knows ,about the rpm that one should not exceed for the first 1000km of the bike ,as i am a bit in doubt ,as the dealer told me 6500 rpm max,not sure they know !!  , is this OK ?? :-\

Drive it like you normally would, manufacturer break-in procedure is nonsense, and riding it harder then usual actually
makes more sense. Didn't you get the manual (not that I'd follow that recommendation either).

Just don't push it when it's cold and don't keep it at it's top speed before the first oil change.

  I agree completely with Cortez. Don't abuse it, but don't baby it either. I would change to a good quality synthetic oil and new oil filter at 100 miles and ride it like you normally would.

Just to add, my break-in was mostly of the "alternative" type, but you can't really run the scooter hard since it goes up to around
6000 revs at wide open throttle (mine did 5600, new ones go over 6k) and the revs would stay at 6k up to around 60mph.

Cosidering the 8700 rev limiter, you're good with WOT at all times and up to 70mph I'd say, but I'd forget about that rule
after 100 miles and first oil change.

My scoot was sold with 15k miles on it and not a drop of oil was ever used up.

   It's tough to hold RPM's below a certain point on a scooter as they tend to rise to
a set RPM then the transmission starts to work.

   I'd vary the speed a lot during the first 100 miles to 500 miles. The engine will
remain tight for 1000 - 2000 miles so avoid redlining for long periods during that time.

   But basically riding it normal with a little caution on hard acceleration and holding
high rev's for a long time and it should break in just fine. I like to double the run time
on the first rides (10 minutes, 20 minutes, 40 minutes etc) and allow sufficient cool
down between rides.
   
   I like to change the oil out early (like around 200 miles) and use straight 30 weight
to help the top end bed in...

All good advice but 1) DT has no redline indicated at all  ;D and 2) You can hit the rev limiter only going down hill and it's around 97-98mph indicated.
So.. not really an issue.

I will just be hitting the 1000km on the odometer ,and the bike feel more "throttle happy", I think the engine parts are loosening up .however i am not ridding wot at any moment before the end of the Breaking in ,hope to be able to do that after first oil change  :D
