I've checked my a couple of times and got around 65 mpg, but my problem is I have always zipping around and one the gas whenever I can. Would like to see what I'd get if ridden gently, but just don't have the discipline on this fun machine.  Check out of Fuelly, there are several GTi300 riders that are recording their mileages.

Right now I'm getting terrific mileage. Of course my scoot is sitting in the garage with a cover on it until April. When I put it away last fall it had about 2500 miles on it. I've installed a iridium spark plug and 14gr sliders. I also weigh about 210lbs. All that being said I average about 68mpg on 87 octane fuel. The majority of my riding is probably between 0-45mph. When I'm on the interstate I don't go over 75mph.

Sounds great but shouldn't you be using 93 octane? The owners Manuel recommends using higher octane fuels and I know I've read some threads that people have said they use additives when they have to get an ethanol blend.

You have to remember these scooters are built in Taiwan. They use a different octane rating system than we do in the US. Our 87 octane is as good as their 93 rated octane. It won't hurt to use a higher octane, but it not necessary.

I think you are right about the 87 octane gas. There are at least 3 methods of rating octane. Almost all modern motorcycles and scooter run fine on 87. That's all I've ever used, I get about 62-65 MPG and hot rod the doo-doo out of it, including a couple trips to the local drag strip. It's just so much fun to twist the throttle.

As a old time drag racer I'm curious as to what times these 300GTI's will turn. I've got 14g sliders in mine. Any guess about times for mine?

I am getting 70-72mpg. I do watch it closely as I have to fuel everyday I ride. I do use premium only in hopes that there might be more detergent than in regular. The station where I fill up still has individual lines for each grade of gas. When the windscreen went on mileage dropped into the high 60's but came back up when the iridium plug went in. I ride a 10 mile stretch of 60mph and a 20 mile 45mph roads daily which probably boosts my mpg a bit. Also being a former runner helps 8)

Sorry Mrmike but I just today found your question. My local track is only 1/8 mile, Showroom stock I ran a best of 11.358 @ 60.008, 2.635 in 60'. With drilled rollers I went 10.962 @ 61.743 and 2.536 60'. Finally at an all scooter race at the same track I removed the top box and air filter,  10.457 @ 63.814 and 2.289 in 60'. The FI compensated, sort of, for no air filter. The bike left really well but layed down bad about 200 feet before clearing out again to ran good.
Also ran the bike at Atlanta Dragway, 1/4 mile. Only got 2 runs in before the rains hit. Numbers were 11.839 @ 58.88, 1/8 mile, 2.791 60', 18.585 @ 72.83 in  the 1/4 mile. This was box stock except no top box. I have no explanation why it was so much slower at Atlanta. A friend was with me there with his 200cc Piaggio Fly 150. It too was slower at that track.
For comparisons sake, the GTi was quicker than an Aprilia Atlantic 500, Kymco 500 and Yamaha 400 Majesty, all box stock, that I've ridden at the same 1/8 mile track. The Kymco GTi 300 is very near the quickest single cylinder scooter available. One possibly quicker one might be the BV350 which I've had no experience with.

Thought you were lost. Haven't heard from you in a while.
When I had 1000+ miles on my GT, I checked gas mileage a few times out of curiosity.
Was getting 67-68.
Also checked max speed at about 3000 miles. Speedometer got to 95. I think I weighed 195 at that time.
Other posters have checked the GT with GPS and report 92-93 mph max.
99% of the time I ride at modest speeds.

Not lost, just sidetracked to other issues. My speedo is very close to actual speed as measured with GPS. On 2 occasions I've gotten 84MPH on level ground, no wind with the GPS. The only way I would be able to get 90+ on the GPS would be on a long downhill. I'm about 230# sitting on  the bike ready to ride. My MPG is staying in the mid 60's and I tend to ride in what some might call an aggressive manner.
BTW, I'm about 6500 miles now on the bike. Just did my own valve adjustment, WOW, easy, piece of cake.  It's as easy a BMW airhead to do.

Everyone is different but folks your riding scooters here, who cares about mpg? Your riding the most fuel efficient vehicles on the road, have fun and enjoy! Plus gas is under $2 a gallon. If that's the worst thing on your mind your doing pretty good in life, LOL.
