maxed out my Xciting the other day!
« on: February 14, 2014, 05:09:23 PM »
anyone else ever max out their xciting 500
the other day on the ride home i was on the freeway and came up next to a street bike. i get regular knods, props, and thumbs up on this monster scoot lol. we did the whole back and forth, he shoit past me, the i shot past him, back and forth then we both started rolling on the throttle and went for it, building up speed................. AND.................................. ah!!! fuel cut off. looked at the speedo and it was around 92 mph
we slow down to normal or just above freeway speeds, look at eachother, knod, wave and go about our commutes.
that was fun lol. yay for big bore scoots!
seems the fuel cut is after the red starts on the tach. red starts at 7500-10000 rpm.
i think the fuel cut was at around 8500rpm so i am assuming that is where real redline is. anyone who has been on the freeway and had to pass someone in a hurry, you know how fast and easy it can be to hit that 8000 mark lol

so for anyone who is wondering, yes our bikes have a safety fuel cut point :)

anyone else experience this yet?
always leave yourself an exit incase you get stuck in a pinch. RIDE SAFE!

The fastest I had ridden my Kymco 500ri was 155 kilometers per hour.
Sorry I don't know what the conversion to MPG and it is my understanding
that the speedo reads 10 km higher than the actual speed.

I will say that did not feel I was going too fast as the ride was so smooth, that I did
not realize how fast I was going until I looked at the speedometer!

I love the ride of my scooter!

In Ontario the max speed limit on two lane highways is 80 km.

I have a 2009 XC 500 RI and my gearing maxes out at about 91 miles per hour.

The engine has more grunt and the CVT gearing is maxed out.  I still have throttle but no more go.
I wish I could ride more and drive less!

LOL If you take the 10% optimistic speedo's into account I have most of you beat w/ 74.5 cc's in a 50 frame. Nice~~~ :P

Speed at the rpm redline and cut off is 90 mph, which is slow for any Maxi scooter. The company probably decided to allow lots of mid range power which the 500 has in lieu of top speed, which can be dangerous on small tires.

My Burgman 650's would top out at 112 mph and my past T-max 500 at 107.
