Need Carb Help Fast!
« on: February 28, 2014, 06:24:21 AM »
:( Super 9 carb messed up at worst time possible. Sadly Im not good with them and need it fixed by  in a few hours as it is my only vehicle. I have all the parts and all panels removed. If anyone can give me a good detailed description on how to remove and rebuild it would be very helpful. Thanks you!

Messed up doesn't give enough info for anyone to be helpful so try explaining what the scoot is doing in detail.

Once the carb is off, you'll see how simple they really are--if you pay attention to the parts sequence etc if you take it apart.

If it idles but will only run with the choke on, you have a plugged secondary and/ or main jet. I would put a large portion of carb/ fuel injection cleaner in it, like Chevron Techron and ride it like you stole it to really force the fuel and cleaner through the jets. If that doesn't work, you'll have to take it apart. Use a carb cleaner spray on everything inside but especially any jet orifices, blow them out with compressed air and reassemble and give it a try.

Once the carb is on the work bench, the cleaning/ rebuild (Hardly ever needed) takes maybe 15 to 30 minutes at the very most.

It might not even be the carb. That's why we need more info.

O sorry about that I was told in a previous question describing it dyeing without throttle and oddly idling it was a clogged jet. Well being lazy I put it off (I know dumb idea). My real issue is I just dont Know how to remove it. Do I Need to unhook anything first? Should I remove my gas first?

The throttle cable will have to be removed and it's an easy task.

The gas line when removed from the carb can be plugged up with a pencil or a small bolt.

Have fun!

Porkie is right, Joebro. You gotta tell us what you did just so we know: 1. What the original problem was, 2. What it really took to fix/remedy the problem and 3. Improve everyone's troubleshooting skills.

I basically unhooked the carb (just took everything loose). Plugged the lines and took it apart. Sprayed everything ou with carb cleaner and slapped her back together. Went well Porkie you were right hard to explain whats in there but is pretty simple little machine.
