Guilty Pleasure/The Little Things
« on: March 06, 2014, 09:35:41 PM »
Thought this would be a good thread for us to share our guilty pleasure about riding or the little things that really make it what it is to you.

For me there are two at the moment.

The smell of motor oil on my hands after I changed my scooter's oil.
      and
I live in Kansas. We have a "Dead Red" law here.  I am allowed to treat red lights like a yield.  And I do, often.  I run red's like I have a special power like a super hero or something.  My special power is running reds! Ha Ha. I always feel guilty even though it's legal.  I assume that most people here don't know about this law either so I look like an A$$ hole.  I've been honked at several times doing this and once was while my gf and I were riding two up.  It was funny that we both shot them the finger in unison.

The  Dead Red law allows the rider of a motorcycle to proceed through a red light ....if the red light has failed to change to green within a reasonable period of time because the signal has malfunctioned or has failed to detect the vehicle.
Red lights equal a full stop, first, never a yield.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I live in the Philippines and my American sister-in-law from Houston just visited together with my brother, her husband... She only had one thing to say.... "I will never drive in this country, ever!"... referring to going thru city intersections with no traffic lights, no signs, no laws, no cops, no road rage, and no crashes....Lol!

I like the expressions on redneck's faces (in their overcompensatingly-large pickup trucks) when I pass them. At first they're in awe of how small that Harley is, then they realize what is happening... then they either accept it, or floor it fearing there were witnesses and their man card might be revoked.
