Earthquakes and scooters

 So I was sitting in the living room watching t.v., and a small earthquake hit. My first reaction was to run into the garage and check if my scooter had fallen over. It was O.K. The quake was close by and shallow. There were just two jolts.
 This was my scooters first quake. It got me thinking, what is the best way to keep your scooter from falling over when the ground is bouncing up and down?
 Had the quake been bigger, it could have bounced and fallen over.  I don't have quake insurance on the scooter.

CRAP!!!. A second much larger quake just hit an hour later. In the same area near my house. The house shook. The Windows rattled. The scooter did not fall. The first one was only a 3.6 initially. This one is at least a 5.3. It sounds ridiculous that as I am seeing electrical transformers lighting up, I am running to my scooter. How silly.
 This size quake is normally not a concern. Not a big quake but I am a new scooter owner.

Omg.... where do you live to get so many quakes? Also I wouldnt worry put her on a center stand I imagine she would be fine. I could be wrong though so dont take my word 100%.

I've a small collection of wine myself.  I think I would be more worried about the bottles too!

But I was thinking the same thing.  Some sort of tie down or lift system should help the bike.

I think it shows that your priorities are in the right area - scooter first, then worry about the family.

I was born in Southern California in 'earthquake' land and lived there for 50 years until moving to Missouri. I've been through some big earthquakes there and it comes with the territory, something like 'tornado's' come with the Missouri and mid-west area.

I'm glad you are okay and your scooter also!

Reverse Vivo's idea and hang the ties from the ceiling or rafters of the garage, it may lean but won't fall unless the rafters come down.

Good idea 08087. It can just swing back and forth. Scooter did not fall over through all of the quakes and aftershocks this weekend. Earthquakes seem to hate stucco, though.
