Out catching waves
« on: April 07, 2014, 09:29:56 AM »
Yesterday I went for a short 20 mile ride. Kind of a round about way to the store and back. I noticed in the distance a line of motorcycles coming towards me. There must have been 30 of them. As I approached I put my hand out for the wave and oh my god, they all waved back. My hand was out so long I started to get nervous having it off for so long. I was doing 50mph. All those big boys waving at little old me. Got chills. Love the Sunday riders who share the fun of two wheels.

Wow, that's pretty good - 30 waves!  Around here only occasionally I get a wave back from a Harley rider and once they realize they waved to a scooter they desperately try to take the wave back!  ???

With riding season around here just starting, even the Lifestyle riders are waving.. I had a guy on a sportbike wave at me while I was riding my scooter (both started waving at the same time) and Saturday I bought a new (used) Hyosung GT250 and put a couple hundred miles on it this weekend and every person I met, waved at me.

So far, I'm 100% for the season, but most of my riding has been done on cool days (55 degrees and colder) but when we actually get the real wannabee lifestyle riders out, I'm sure my average will drop off.. After a while I quit waving at Lifestyle riders who aren't wearing helmets as I'm better off picking my nose than wasting time waving.

I haven't kept track but . . . At this point I'm getting more waves than no waves.

On my little agility 125 i get some waves. The harley riders with no gear on never even see you lol. Funniest one so far a honda cbr1000 lane split to the front of the stoplight, pulls right up next to me and threw up the fist to pound it lol.
